Camille Howie was established in 2007 after winning the prestigious international fashion competition, the Vodafone iD Emerging Designer Award. The judges described her work as ‘quiet… elegant… powerful.’
As one of New Zealand's top 25 designers Camille Howie is featured in Angela Lassig's 'New Zealand Fashion Design', (Te Papa Press 2010). Her work is also showcased in 'The Dress Circle', (Random House 2010) by Douglas Lloyd Jenkins, Lucy Hammonds and Claire Regnault.
With an aesthetic that involves geometry and form, Camille Howie is known for the creation of pure design pieces. Each garment Combines a new sense of cut, fabrics that are quality and a distinct use of colour. With these elements original garments are produced to convey what is a beautifully artful brand.
In each new season a strong emphasis is placed on the dress, exploring new techniques, driven by a love of creating and making. The result is a beautiful balance of originality and wearability, with fine finishing.
Camille Howie is available in Marilyn Sainty’s Scotties boutiques as well as stores throughout New Zealand and Australia.
